Elizabeth is a PhD student in the English Department at the University of Washington. Her research focuses on 19th and 20th century British literature and the emerging interdisciplinary discourse on the Anthropocene. In addition to her research, Elizabeth teaches Composition for the Expository Writing Program at UW.
In autumn of 2018, she will begin teaching Multimodal Composition—a course that introduces students to a process of academic inquiry and writing that extends beyond the traditional academic essay to include other digital and media platforms relevant in today's increasingly technological world. It is through her interest in the way interdisciplinary and multimodal approaches to scholarship and pedagogy are reshaping higher education that Elizabeth eagerly joins the board of Process, an online journal that opens up a space for undergraduates across disciplines to share work that both includes and extends beyond the formal academic essay.
