Sumyat Thu is a PhD student and predoctoral instructor in the English department and the Expository Writing Program. She works as an assistant director of the EWP and the Computer-Integrated Classrooms starting in Autumn 2017. She is also a Public Scholarship fellow of the Simpson Center for the Humanities and plans to make her dissertation project a visible example of intersectional academic and public scholarship on the subject of translingual identity and communication in postcolonial diasporas. She is also a long-time writing center camper and currently tutors in the Odegaard Writing and Research Center. Having worked as an editor of the Southeastern Writing Center Association (SWCA) quarterly publication and the AJC Decatur Book Festival publication in Georgia, she is excited to serve as a board member of the e.g. undergraduate scholarship journal.
